Times of transition bring chaos with them. The strain is mental, emotional and physical. It also has an immediate effect on your surroundings. Chaos in mind often brings chaos to your personal space. Professional organizer, Jenny Abrams, brings order to the chaos. She cleans up what is often a dirty word – organization. Getting organized doesn’t have to be the hot mess you think it is!
My middle name is Lanaye … but it could be Organization or Productivity. I love being organized! I pride myself on the ability to put my hands on whatever I need. No hunting. No searching. Just like when I tell people I love cooking, I hear all of the reasons why they don’t cook, when I tell people I love organization and productivity tools, I get all the reasons why they aren’t more organized and why productivity tools don’t work for them.
To me, the reason for all these reasons come down to two things.
“I don’t have the time to organize.”
“It is to hard to stay organized once you finally get organized.”
For me, time isn’t an issue because I live by the Big Beach’s rule. If you don’t make a mess, there is no mess to clean or organize. At the end of the day, I immediately put clothes in the hamper or back on the hanger. While I cook, I clean. I don’t have a sink full of pots and pans once my meal is ready.
Talking to Jenny was a pleasure. Listen to the show and get some great time-saving tips on making organization a lot easier than you think it is.
