Human Trafficking. When the topic comes up we think of sex slaves in far away lands. We think of something that happens far away from the comforts of our homes. Yet human trafficking is occurring right around us … all of the time. Nancy Hartwell has dedicated over 40 years to investigating human trafficking, both sexual and labor. It happens here in the US and the Western world.
Incredibly in the United States labor trafficking is more prevalent than sexual trafficking. From migrant workers to nail techs, trafficking can be going on right under your nose. Sexual trafficking happens to teenage girls but also disturbingly to children.
You would be surprised at how easy it is for a trafficker to grab your daughter while out shopping or your child while leaving school or playing at the playground.
